Electrical contractor: Case Study
Electrical Contractors for High-rise Residential, Commercial and Retail
An electrical contracting company approached us, intending to scale the business and propel it to the next level. The business was performing at around $2.5 million, revenues and profitability had plateaued. At the same time, the owner was working an unsustainable 80 to 90 hours a week to maintain the profit level.
As the central leader in the business, he was exceptional at his trade—but lacked expertise in driving business strategy and growth, which is where we stepped in to educate him.
To free up his time, we needed to bring in the next level of management underneath him so he could focus on building the business. We freed him from the daily business operations fairly swiftly by structuring the team to include labourers, electricians, leading hands, a foreman, and a Project Manager (PM)--establishing a clear hierarchy. This restructuring gave him leverage to lessen the demands on his time and act on our growth strategy.
We automated every aspect of the operation, quoting, job delivery, payments, and project management—and the entire team could access and utilise the system.
We also adapted his brand and marketing to target higher-level businesses, then provided him with sales strategy training on pitching to developers.
Consequently, his business experienced remarkable growth, soaring from $2 million to $13 million in less than two years, with the average project value increasing from $60K - $200k to $1.5 million.
