Leading Western Sydney College
Islamic College of Sydney, a not-for-profit Islamic school based in Australia.
When this not-for-profit college, based in Western Sydney, approached us, they were operating at 40% to 50% student capacity. The school’s owners, incredibly passionate about giving back to the local community, faced challenges in further increasing capacity.
The management of the business model wasn't understood enough for the College to drive the strategy to optimise , business performance resulting in a heavy reliance on the owners to make decisions they didn’t feel confident making.
As we worked together, we facilitated significant changes, including the recruitment of a new CEO to lead the organisation, upskilling the current heads of school, introducing a brand ambassador, and developing a strategic growth plan to reach full school capacity.
A new sales and marketing plan was implemented, accompanied by an extensive brand awareness campaign. We established a sales strategy and sales funnel to leverage increased community awareness, turn it into sales, and attract more students to the college. The recruitment of a new CEO injected the school with the leadership qualities it had lacked previously—and we continued to work with the CEO and the owners in an executive coaching capacity.
Within 18 months to 2 years, the college reached full capacity. Initially operating at a half-million-dollar loss annually, the college now boasts a $4 million+ profit.
